Worzel Gummidge has nothing on me LOL

Afternoon everyone :)

Finally after an hour battle (scowl,) Pickles has given in and gone down for a nap. Had an awful night again last night with him he finally went to sleep at 1.30am but was up at exactly the same time as yesterday 5.40. I wasn't going to give in this time and get him up. I went in several times and in the end gave him a bottle of milk to drink in his cot and then went back to bed and literally sandwiched my head between four huge pillows. I couldn't sleep but at least there was silence for a while LOL.

I can't remember the last time I made anything I have been so dog tired with my OH away all of the time and Pickles refusing to sleep and a stroppy teenager to contend with arrrrrgggghhhhhh I needed that, I feel a bit better now :)

Just had some good news my OH is heading back from Gloucester at 4pm so he should hopefully be home for bed time, traffic willing. I am going to go to sandwich my head between four pillows again in bed when he gets in and he can sort them out LOL

Just off to the greenhouse to water my tomatoes, chillies, peppers, aubergines, cucumbers and melons and water the hanging baskets. When I came back earlier from dropping little miss temperamental of at her friends I happened to glance at the front garden. When on earth did all of that grow! I have been that busy and tired and it's been chucking it down the past couple of days I hadn't even noticed LOL. The air was filled with an overwhelming yummy smell of old roses pure unadulterated heaven arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

That was until of course my nose started to twitch and my brain came to the realisation that I hadn't taken any hayfever tablets today. It then past the message quicker than lightening down to my nostrils achoooooooooo. I haven't stopped sneezing since; I look like blinkin Rudolph for Pete’s sake. I caught a glance at myself in the bay window and frightened myself half to death. I had a scruffy t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms on my grey skin and hollow drawn eyes streaming and nose twitching from the hayfever and my heeeeeeeeeeeeeeed. Well Worzel Gummidge has got nothing on me today I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards. A dirty great big one at that, Leylandi sized with no word of a lie. I live in an area of the‘ladies what lunches', all perfect and ST Tropet’ed to within an inch of their lives and I looked like a vagrant trying to break in. I have to get myself and Pickles sleeping sorted this is ridiculous.

I've told my OH I am booking myself in for a major rehaul in a couple of weeks time, facial, massage, eyebrow shape, manicure, pedicure, haircut the entire shebang and I demanded new clothes too. I think he recognised I was a slowly going deranged woman on the edge and smiled and simply said "yes, do it, you deserve it" ehhhhhhhhhhh ????????

What’s all that about then? Agreeing with me (confused) "no, not another craft mag" he declared last week when I asked him to pick me the latest copy of Let's Knit for the Grande ole price of £4.99 from the supermarket.! Men, eh and they say we are hard to work out.

I am being hailed now by Master Pickles informing me at the greatest of decibels to rescue him from the curtain monster so I must go for now. I’ll hopefully be popping back on later to upload a few things when my OH gets back.

I hope everybody has a lovely day and ((hugs)) to those that can't :)

I hate chicken pie !

Afternoon everyone :)

Just managed to sit down at last and have a catch up and a coffee. Not 4 long though Pickles due to wake up soon. Been doing washing, washing and more washing and tidying today. At least it's still warm and I've not had to use the drier. The first lot went on the line at 9 this morning and it dried in no time. I went out to take it off and pop another lot on. All very very organised for me for a change. I nipped back in with the clean washing and to pop another wash on. I was so proud of myself being so organised, I should have known it wouldn't last for long. The peg bowl was empty, I was confused I even went back into the house to check if they were there, but they weren’t. Then I heard a certain very cheeky monkey shouting "away, away" So I ran out of the house he was no where in sight so I went through the arch into the back part of the garden and there was a very cheeky toddler throwing the last of my pegs into the huge rhododendron bush. It's about 25' high and 15 or more feet wide and very dense to the ground. I then spent the next three quarters of an hour tying to locate the blinkin things Huhhhh. I managed to put the washing out b4 having to take my DD to school for her GCSE English exam. My OH is in Gloucester and I might just get half an hour b4 Pickles wakes up and I have to start all over again and go and pick my DD up from school. Roll on the weekend.

Yesterday was a disaster too. Run off my feet all day and then when I finally got Pickles down for a nap I spent the next hour and half instead of relaxing chasing chicken pie from next door around the garden. It even got into the house and myself and my DD couldn't get it out. It pecked the hell out of my French doors. When Dr Doolittle from next door finally decided to put an appearance in he came around for it. I told him I'd chased it for an hour and a half and it had been in house. I politely told him to find out where they were getting in as it is now a daily occurrence. Our back garden is split into two and I can't see the back half from the house so by the time the mealy eyed thing saunters through to the part I can see it's usually eaten through loads of veggies, the fat cretin. The guy from next door just kept hugging chicken pie and kissing, YES I said kissing it, he wouldn't give me eye contact, every question or comment I came out with he ignored and just jabbered away in a silly voice to the damn chicken. He just kept hugging, cooing and talking and kissing chicken pie. Hasn't he heard of E-Coli!I felt like I had entered the twilight zone there for a while. He didn't apologise, just turned around and walked away. His OH is a lovely woman but he is just weird. His OH says he likes chicken pie and his hoppos to run wild. Well that's all well and good if they are running wild in their own blinkin garden but they aren't they are in mine feasting like theres no tomorrow because they have eaten everything in sight in their garden. Wheres that bird of prey when you need him eh? I can't believe he didn't even apologise, how ignorant I was speechless for once, YES I for once the mother of rambling on couldn't think of a thing to say I just stood there open mouthed. I really have had enough, truly.

Going to try and use this half an hour making a blinkin peg bag, I'm not going through all of that again LOL. I hope everybody’s having a lovely day and (hugs) to those who can't :)

PS Hoping to pop some more free images on later if I can track the printer/scanner lead down. I have a file stuffed full with them just have to decide which ones to put on. So please check back later.

PPS Thanks to those who has voted on chuckle monkeys tree frogs bud name in the poll. If you haven't voted all ready, please have a go :)

Anyone for chicken pie ?

Arggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Apologies in advance to any vegetarians out there. But I am sick to the back teeth of those blinkin chickens next door. The next time I catch one it is liable to end up in a chicken pie!

Don't get me wrong I do like birds our garden is home to robins, blackbirds, bluetits, two sets of doves, sparrows and loads of ickle brown feathery creatures (don't know what they are called) and some black scary looking birds with brown spots. We actively encourage them along with the hedgehogs. I even have blinkin rotten logs under the rhododendron to encourage the frogs, toads and bugs to build up the gardens own eco system so I don't have to use pesticides. But at the most all they eat are the slugs, bugs and the odd bluebell and sunflower seed head. They DON'T chomp away and feast on my blinkin radish, fennel and other veggies.

I wish I was one of those people that could physically connect with animals like those horse whisperers can. There is a bird of prey that frequently flies above us and rests in the silver birch tree. "Get the chickens, the chickens are evil, get the chickens, the chickens are evil" I'd say to it. I'd then have it whisk those blinkin chickens away and never come back. My OH chucked it back over the fence but like the terminator no doubt in my mind it 'will be back' just like last night.

If they know what’s good for them they had better start hatching a escape plan like in the film Chicken Run, because I am at the end of my tether. I haven’t spent months in the greenhouse raising seedlings to only put them out and have chicken pie and his evil henchmen eat them all. This is war.

I HATE THOSE BLINKIN CHICKENS

Rant over,later :)

Cheers ears :)

So, so busy

So, so busy. I had a date with some ducks, a loaf of bread and a impatient toddler yesterday. We finally got to nip out for a walk to the canal yesterday evening when my OH got back from working away. We had missed the sun but it was still very warm. We stopped off at the fish and chip shop on the way for a bag of squishy chips laddened in and salt and vinegar, yummmmmmmmm. No I haven't gone mad I just haven't had them in a while with being on a diet and oven chips just aren't the same :(

We didn't get to get see any swans as the canal bank was full of children having a fishing competition. But we did get to feed the ducks though. The mallards are Pickles favourite. They keep flying over to visit us in our back garden for a spot of bread.

We even got to see the baby ducklings. My oh my have they grown from last week.

With the fishing competition we didn't think that we'd get to see any canal barges, but luckily there was one :) I shall have to get some more pics when the canal bank isn't full of people fishing, they are utterly gorgeous and so colourful and the people on them are so friendly. They always wave and say hello to Pickles and I as they pass.

To Pickles utter amazement a hand glider flew over us too.

We were going to walk up to the cricket club and take a look at the moo moos (cows) but I was very tired and my feet were hurting from wearing silly shoes walking over the cobbled street. So as we passed the church we decided to stop off at the Inn next door as it was a nice evening had had a lovely cold pint of Shandy and a bag of ready salted (shhhh don't tell anybody)

Pickles has just gone down for a nap. My daughter is studying and my OH is working from home. So I am just nipping out now into the garden to do some more planting out and potting up. I can barely get into the greenhouse now it's that full and it has that gorgeous tomato plant smell as you go in, heaven. Probably due to the fact that there are over 100 tomato plants in there. I know I know, I got giddly as I did with the 200+ sunflower plants I grew. Going to have tomatoes coming out of our ears soon, plenty of pastas sauces though, yummy and so good to preserve or freeze.

Remember my cut and come again bistro lettuce ? We've feasted on it for weeks, marvellous stuff. You do literally cut it and it comes back again and it is sooooooo delicious.

Then if Pickles is still asleep when we've finished I'm going to start on my pincushions. Then hopefully some more hair bobbles and pins and some more cosmetic purses and just some sewing in general. I've still got some roman blinds and circle dolls to do.

As always thank you very much for visiting and please call back again soon. I'll hopefully be back on later to add another post :)

Cheers ears :)

I have turned a corner I no longer think I am going insane.....I think!

Good afternoon everyone I hope you are all well. Whey hey blogging for the third day in a row, I hope you are all proud of me LOL

Well, what a debacle yesterday was. I finally tracked down the camcorder lead and my PC started playing up. If it had gone any slower it would have stopped. After shutting it down several times I succeeded in getting it working, then it took forever to download the photos, only all of the ones I wanted to put on had disappeared argggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh. My OH said he is going to try and find them for me tonight. I am so flustered lately they are probably there somewhere completely obvious taunting me for being so blonde! For some totally bizarre reason though there were loads of piccies from when we went away for a couple of weeks with my brother and his family to Devon and Cornwall last year. But all the recent ones had disappeared. Some great snaps and some awesome ones of the fabulous Eden Project. I shall be sure to pop some on later for you to peruse or not LOL. Can’t do it now unfortunately because miraculously the camcorder download lead has mystically morphed itself into a damn IPOD lead AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out and relax, remember you are turning over a new leaf; you are a calm confident organised individual. Hey stop with the sniggering, it’s true!

Just put Pickles down for a nap, he's still ill and clingy and I am still having trouble with the antibiotics. Made a pact with myself earlier to get more organised and blitz the house and garden between now and the weekend. Maybe if I am more organised I will actually end up getting more done and won't get so flustered and down with OH being away all of the time. I am making some chore rosters, hopefully this afternoon and then when my OH gets back get him to get my laminator down from where the giraffes live and buy some whiteboard pens and get it up on the wall. Decided as my DD is now 16 she can get off her pampered batty and help out. I got a call from her on the way to school "Mum I've 4gotten my PE kit" arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Just after I had got my determined organised head on too, typical. So I turned into the local taxi service for her again and abandoned the washing up and went to my parent’s house. My Dad then took the kit to school as Pickles is too ill to be messed about in and out all of the time. He was really clingy, I wasn't allowed to have a cup of tea or read so I came home.

Stopped off at the shops on the way back and bought him his In The Night Garden comic to cheer him up, worked for about 2 minutes! Also treated myself, realised I haven't bought myself any ME magazines (apart from craft mags) in over a year I used to buy them all of the time. So I went a bit mad and bought two newspapers, the local newspaper, Your Home with free gardening mag, Cheshire Life, Chat, Take a Break and Best. The latter three full of the usual gob opening obscure almost unbelievable personal stories. Just finished the washing up so now I am off to have some ME reading time and a cuppa then get on with the spring clean. Going to read the one with Fern Britain in first I think and all about her diet. She's lost four stone and looking fantastic, I never knew she was 50! She’s looking amazing.

Going to enjoy myself and take them out into the garden as the weathers so nice, a good escape into a trashy story will do me the world of good. Only read craft mags, talked about crafts, done crafts and babbled onto a baby all day for well over a year. Hopefully it will perk me up you know what they say a change is as good as a rest. Hope the sun is shining for everyone and you all have a fantastic day and ((hugs)) to those who can't.

Cheers ears :)

New Chuckle Monkey art download

I should have uploaded a new Chuckle Monkey digital art stamp image yesterday evening but I got sidetracked. I have just nipped in for a cup of cha as I have been gardening in the rain (yes I am a tad mad) still got tons more re-potting to do including over 200 sunflowers, I kid you not, in the greenhouse and plant out my spinach and broccoli. Just done the chillies and peppers. So I shall upload the new image this evening when I'm done in the garden. So please check back again later.

Cheers ears :)

Ok I am going to bore you to death with some gardeing pics now. Just harvested my first batch of cut n come again lettuce salad leaves. Sick to death of the price Sainsburys charge for their bistro salad, it is delishhhhhhhhhhh. They should be double the size in a weeks time.
